KEOTA-Estella Luers, age 92, of Keota, died Monday, October 18, 2010, at Maplewood Manor in Keota. Estella was born June 11, 1918, in rural Sigourney, Iowa, to Charles and Emma (Bakehouse) Hinnah. She attended country school and graduated from Sigourney High School. On December 2, 1945, Estella married Albert Luers at Bethel United Methodist Church in rural Sigourney. Following marriage the couple lived and farmed in the Keota area. Estella was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the LGV Club. She loved the Lord, her church, the Bible, her family and friends. Survivors include a daughter: Marilyn Luers. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Albert on December 22, 1978 and brother: Ward Hinnah. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2010, at Bethel United Methodist Church in rural Sigourney, with Rev. Dennis Hopes officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery across from the church. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota.
