SIGOURNEY-Errol L. Hahn, age 73, of Sigourney, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, following a brief illness. Errol was born July 2, 1933, in West Lancaster Township, Keokuk County, Iowa, to Anton J. and Frances (Pitsch) Hahn. He attended Chastine country school and graduated from Sigourney High School in 1950. On September 10, 1960, he married Donna Howe at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ottumwa. The couple lived and farmed in West Lancaster Township. Errol was known for his welding, blacksmithing and metal fabrication skills and enjoyed gardening, farming and his dog, Marshal. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sigourney and Farm Bureau. Survivors include his wife: Donna of Sigourney; three daughters: Margaret Hahn of Des Moines, Laura Hanna and husband Dale of Milford and Sarah Hahn and husband Carl Golightly of Burbank, Washington and one brother: Lloyd Hahn and wife Mary of Sigourney. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Robert Hahn. A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2007, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sigourney with Rev. Marty Goetz officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Sigourney. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2007, at the Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel in Sigourney, where the family will be present from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will be a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Sigourney Public Library. Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service in Sigourney is handling the arrangements.
