Erma Amanda Miller was born July 13, 1931 near Kalona, Iowa the daughter of Noah M. and Magdalena (Hochstedler) Yoder. She accepted Christ in her youth and was a faithful member of the Old Order Amish Church. On October 23, 1952 she was united in marriage to Joe Jr. Miller. Erma passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013 at her home in rural Kalona after a series of mini-strokes. She was 81 years old. Erma is survived by her husband Joe Jr. and seven children. Edith Miller (Marlin) of Kalona, Harold Miller (Celesta) of Croften, Kentucky, Lloyd Miller (Arlene) of Riverside, Minerva Jane Miller at home, Mildred Yoder (Enos) of Guthrie, Kentucky, Clara Yoder (Jesse) of Riverside, Eldora Yoder (Philip) of Kalona. Also surviving are 44 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 brothers Harvey Yoder (Ruby Ann) of Kalona, John Henry Yoder (Clara) of Willamina, Oregon, 2 sisters Annie Ropp of Kalona, Mary Ellen Schlabaugh (Edward) of Weyers Cave, Virginia, a sister-in-law Verna Yoder of Bremen, Indiana, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Menno M. Yoder, a brother-in-law Chester Ropp, a great granddaughter Angela Faith Miller, and a nephew Marlin Yoder. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 AM Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Philip Yoder residence at 5564 Sharon Center Rd. SW in rural Kalona. Ministers in charge are Milford Miller and Elmer T. Miller. Burial will be in the Peter Miller Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:30 PM on Sunday and will continue all day on Monday at the Philip Yoder residence. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona is in charge of the arrangements.
