Enos Hugh Miller was born on March 11, 1910 in Reno County, Kansas the son of Harvey J. And Lizzie Yoder Miller. He was raised in Kansas and was baptized in his youth in Yoder, Kansas. Enos moved with his family to Iowa in 1927. He has since made his home in Johnson and Washington Counties. He was united in marriage to Erma Pauline Doolin in Wellman on June 1, 1932. He farmed many years northeast of Wellman. Enos also worked at various jobs and occupations , retiring in 1996. He was an active member of the Wellman Mennonite Church, serving as Sunday School teacher and Superintendent, as a church council member, and serving on the IMS Board. He became a resident of the Parkview Manor Complex in Wellman in September 2004. Enos died following a short illness at Parkview Manor on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at the age of 98 years, 9 months and 2 days. He is survived by his children: S. Duane Miller (Florence) of Iowa City, E. Gene Miller (Edna) of Kalona; Ermadine Boshart (Norman) of Wayland; L. Dale Miller (Carol) of Iowa City; 22 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; sisters:; Anna Mae Hartzler of Wellman, IA; Bertha Wenger of South Carolina; and Nora Dickel Of Kalona, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Erma in February 2003, a son Dean Miller, daughters Janice Blosser and Elaine Earnest, sisters Elsie Miller, Fannie Doolin and Mattie Bontrager and brother Dan H. Miller. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Wellman Mennonite Church in Wellman, at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 with the Rev. Marvin Hostetler officiating. Visitation will be at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Wellman on Monday, Dec. 15, 2008 from 2 PM to 8 PM with the family present from 5 PM. to 8 PM. Burial will be in the Wellman Mennonite Cemetery in Wellman. A memorial fund has been established for the Wellman Mennonite Church and Amity Hospice.
