Elma E. Oldfield was born December 11, 1915 in South English, Iowa the daughter of Walter and Lucy (Evans) Furman. She graduated from Wellman High School in 1933. On December 31, 1938 she was united in marriage to Paul Oldfield in Wellman. Elma has lived in the Wellman community most all of her life where she operated Martinas Cleaners for several years and worked at Parkview Manor as a nurses aide. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxillary and the Rebekah Lodge. Elma died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at the Parkview Manor in Wellman at the age of 90 years. Elma is survived by two sons - Richard Oldfield and wife Linda of Wellman; Douglas Oldfield and wife Nancy of Wellman; five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in October of 1984, five sisters and four brothers.
A Memorial Fund has been established for the Wellman Ambulance and the Wellman Senior Center.
