Elizabeth E. Parriott, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017, at New London Specialty Care. Open visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Hess of the Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Gifts of love and friendship may be given to New London Specialty Care in her memory. On line condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com Born February 6, 1929, in Bayard, NE, Elizabeth Ellen was the daughter of William and Maude (Triplett) Koros. She spent her formative years and received her education in Nebraska. On October 11, 1946, she married Lyle R. Parriott, Sr. in Bridgeport, NE. He preceded her in death on January 4, 1982. For many years, Elizabeth worked as a certified nurse's assistant at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, and retired from that position. While living in Mt. Pleasant, Elizabeth nurtured her faith and was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She assisted with Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and was a leader in the Cubbies group of the Awanas Club children's ministry. Elizabeth was very musical and loved to sing, as well as playing the guitar, mandolin, piano and organ. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her three sons, Lyle (Janet) Parriott, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Cliff (Bonnie) Parriott of Davenport, IA, and Will Parriott of Washington, IA; three daughters, Jennie (Gary) Dorsch of Pinewood Springs, CO, Judith (Bill) Streit of Cedar Rapids, IA and Joanna (Michael) Shaff of Westminster, CO; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lyle; one brother, George Koros; two sisters, Betty Fox and Violet Parriott; and one step-sister, Ruby Mueller.
