Elda Elaine Shettler was born October 12, 1936 in Milford, Nebraska the daughter of Manno and Maggie (Erb) Stutzman. She graduated from high school in Milford and attended Hesston College and later received her nurses training at Kansas City General Hospital Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri where she worked for 10 years. On May 26, 1990 she was united in marriage to Cecil Shettler in Milford, Nebraska. They made their home in Wellman. Elda worked as a Registered Nurse at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona from 1990-1999. She attended and was very active in the Wellman Mennonite Church and was a member of the Wellman Garden Club. Elda died suddenly on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City at the age of 70 years. Elda is survived by her husband Cecil of Wellman; a sister - Rose Stutzman of Milford, Nebraska; and a brother - Morris Stutzman of Lincoln, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 6 brothers - Clarence, Walter, Clayton, Roy, Arthur and Percy; and a sister Mabel Beckler.
A memorial fund has been established for the Wellman Senior Center and the Wellman Ambulance
