Williamsburg- Elaine Catherine Shaull was born November 4, 1931, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, the daughter of John C & Evelyn C (Duncalf) Meyer. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1949. On April 6, 1951, she married Harlyn R. "Gump" Shaull in Mt. Home AK. During the 1960's Gump and Elaine owned and operated Gump Stop on the Square in Williamsburg. She then worked 25 years at the University of Iowa, retiring in 1992. Elaine was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Parnell and the St. Joseph Altar & Rosary. She enjoyed doing puzzles, flower gardening, watching sports especially Iowa Football and the Chicago Bulls and most importantly spending time with her family. Elaine died on Monday, April 16, 2012, at Mercy Hospital at the age of 80 years. She is survived by her son: Larry J. (Colleen) Shaull of Williamsburg; 2 grandchildren: Todd (Melanie) Shaull of Cedar Rapids and Emily (Shane) Phillips of Williamsburg; and 6 great grandchildren: Patrick, Breanna, Kyla, Landon, Hanna & Ian. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1999: and a brother Wayne Meyer; a daughter Cathy Shaull in 2009; and an infant daughter Jean Shaull. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM on Friday, April 20, 2012 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Victor. Fr. Brian Shepley will preside. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Williamsburg. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 4-7 PM at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg.
