Eileen M. Watson, 81, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Park Place Elder Living surrounded by her family.
Visitation will begin after 12 noon on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Olson~Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, with Reverend Paul Connolly celebrating. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Born July 13, 1937, in Keokuk County, IA, Eileen Marianne was the daughter of Alvie and Leola (Hammes) Heisdorffer. She was a 1955 graduate of Keota High School. On June 14, 1956, Eileen married James A. Jim Watson at St. Marys Catholic Church in Keota, IA. He preceded her in death on November 18, 2016.
Following her marriage, Eileen moved to Mt. Pleasant, where she has lived ever since. She worked as a clerk at Kyle Drug and for many years cared for children at Care-A-Lot Daycare. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and Alter and Rosary Society.
Most important in Eileens life was her family, especially her grandchildren and their activities. She was a member of Trenton Ladies Club, and enjoyed flowers, embroidery, gardening, sewing, and playing cards.
Surviving Eileen are three sons, Curt (Cindy) Watson of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Dick (Nancy) Watson of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and Kevin (Julia) Watson of Denver, CO; two daughters, Pam (David) Smith of Marion, IA, and Patti (Kevin) Roth of Mt. Pleasant, IA; a sister, Karen (Ray) Beltramea; and three brothers, Gene (Linda) Heisdorffer, Phil (Lisa) Heisdorffer, and Fred Heisdorffer. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren with three more on the way.
Eileen is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Jim.
