WELLMAN - Edward Joseph Roskup was born May 23, 1957 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Edward Jon and Twyla Marie (Lousee) Roskup. He graduated from City High School in Iowa City. He proudly served in the Unite States Air Force. On April 8, 1978 he was united in marriage to Margaret Albrecht at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Iowa City. They lived in Iowa City until moving to Wellman in 1999. He owned and operated Rockets Dinner in West Liberty for several years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Ed died suddenly on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids, at the age of 52 years. Ed is survived by a son Edward "EJ" Roskup of Burlington; a sister - Teresa Golly of Mason City; a nephew - Bill Van Orden of Texas; a niece - Karitta Rae Van Orden of Mason City; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Margaret; and a brother Andrew Roskup. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. Rev. Rich Adam will officiate. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the Powell Funeral Home. A General Memorial fund has been established.
