Edward E. Tuttle, age 66, of Malcom passed away Monday, July 25, 2022, at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2022, at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn with Pastor Brad Singleton officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Brooklyn American Legion Post #294 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Visitation: 9:00-11:00 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2022, at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn. A memorial fund has been established.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Jan of Malcom; his daughter Jodi (Chad) Peters of Deep River, his stepdaughter Amber (Kevin) Towner of Rockford, IA.; five grandchildren Taylynn, Liam, Keirstan, Billie, and Jessi; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his siblings, Wanuita (Sonny) Vaughn of Newton, Patricia (Kevin) Fair of Oklahoma City, OK., JoEllen Nickle of Myrtle Beach, SC., Becky (Raymond) Taylor of New Hampton, Michael (Terri) Tuttle of Cedar Rapids, and Rodney (Terry) Tuttle of Brooklyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews.
Edward Eugene Tuttle was born April 15, 1956, in Grinnell, Iowa the son of Joseph Edward and Lila Wanuita Minor Tuttle. He graduated from BGM high school with the class of 1974. Ed served in the U.S. Army for three years, stationed in Germany from 1976 to 1977. Ed was united in marriage to Janet Bunn on April 5, 2001, in Brooklyn. He worked on the railroad for Iowa Interstate, and Amana Refrigeration as a laborer for 17 years. Ed later worked for Victor Manufacturing and Jeld-Wen in Grinnell working on doors until his retirement. He enjoyed playing golf and entering tournaments, fishing and hunting pheasants and rabbits. Ed especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family get togethers.
