KEOTA-Edith Stoutner, age 93, of Keota, died Friday, February 8, 2008, at Maplewood Manor in Keota, following a brief illness. Edith was born on November 18, 1914, near Keota, to Henry and Myrtle (Reighard) Trier and graduated from Keota High School. On February 12, 1935, she married Carl Stoutner at the Christian Church in Washington, Iowa. Following marriage the couple lived and farmed in the Keota area, moving into Keota in 1993. Edith became a resident of Maplewood Manor on January 21, 2008. She was a member of the Christian Church in Keota and enjoyed making homemade noodles, crocheting, hand sewing, quilting, camping and wintering in Florida. Survivors include her husband: Carl of Keota; daughter: Sandra Sieren and husband Marvin of Keota; three grandchildren: Vickie Altenhofen of Keota, Tina Schmitt and husband Bob of Keota and Kurt Sieren and wife Angie of Johnston; eight great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and sister: Esther See of Keota. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Boyd, Gail and Dean Trier; two sisters-in-law: Emmaline Trier and Gloria Trier and one brother-in-law: Richard See. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 17, 2008, at the Powell Funeral Home in Keota, with Rev. Dennis Hopes officiating. Burial will be at Keota Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 16, 2008, at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the Keota Q.R.S.
