Eddy Dean Calhoun, 42, of Lockridge, IA, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at his home. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 3rd, beginning after 12 noon, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant, where the family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral services for Mr. Calhoun will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 4th, at the First Baptist Church with the Reverend Regan Stoops officiating. Burial will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery rural Wayland. Memorials have been established to the Kaitlyn Calhoun Educational Fund and the Cottonwood Cemetery. The son of Edman Wayne and Neoma (Herbert) Calhoun, Eddy Dean was born January 16, 1968, in Mt. Pleasant, IA. He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant Community High School. After high school he enlisted in the Army Reserve National Guard for four years. In 1990, he attended Spartan School of Aeronautics and graduated with an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences. For over 18 years, Eddy worked as a quality control technician at Nypro. He was of the Christian faith and attended the First Baptist Church. He was a devoted father who loved to spend every minute he could with his daughter. His hobbies included computers and photography. Eddy is survived by a daughter, Kaitlyn Calhoun of Mt. Pleasant; three brothers, Denny (Syd) Calhoun of O'Fallon, MO, Ronald (Connie) Calhoun, and Randall Calhoun of Mt. Pleasant, IA; five nieces, Jennifer Trigg of St. Charles, MO, Mandy Calhoun of Lake St. Louis, MO, Shelley Hoffmeister of Lockridge, IA, Jill Tuttle of Mt. Pleasant, and Ann Calhoun of Madison, WI; two nephews Clinton Calhoun and Scott Calhoun, both of Mt. Pleasant; and four great nieces. Along with his parents, Eddy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lena May James Herbert; and Mary Ellen Victor Calhoun, Sr.
