E. Jean Woline

E. Jean Woline, 94, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away Monday, October 12, 2015, at the Pleasant Manor Care Center.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mark Youngquist officiating. Burial will be in the Swedesburg Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the Parish Hall following the burial. A memorial has been established to Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Pleasant Manor Care Center. Olson~Powell Memorial Chapel is assisting the family. Born August 3, 1921, on the family farm north of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Elna Jean was the daughter of Albert F. and Ella D. (Anderson) Woline. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant Community High School in 1938. While in high school Jean particularly loved playing the trombone in the high school marching band, riding her bicycle, and playing basketball. Following graduation, Jean moved to Chicago for a short time where she was a medical secretary. She then returned to Mt. Pleasant and has resided there ever since. Jean was a member of Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was artistic and especially liked to draw. Jean found pleasure in sitting outside and going for Sunday car rides. She enjoyed playing games with her family. Jean is survived by a brother, Richard Woline of Mt. Pleasant, IA; a sister Ruby (Charles) King of Memphis, MO; two sisters-in-law, Delna Woline of Geneva, IL and Dorothy Woline of Mt. Pleasant, IA; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Those preceding Jean in death were her parents; two brothers, Harold Woline and John Woline; a sister, June Woline; and a sister-in-law, Elnora Woline.
