KEOTA-Duane L. Ruenger, age 77, of Keota, died Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Maplewood Manor in Keota. Duane was born October 31, 1935, in Portage, Wisconsin and was raised by his mother, Marguerite and step-father Archie Koenig. On December 8, 1951, he married Sharon E. Anderson in Indianapolis, Indiana. Duane worked for Sundstrand Aviation for 44 years in Rockford, Illinois and Grand Junction, Colorado, retiring as a Quality Supervisor in 1996. He was a member of the Baltic Lodge in Rockford and Eagles Lodge in Rockford and Grand Junction. Duane enjoyed his cars, riding motorcycles and drinking beer. Survivors include five children: Mike Ruenger of Kansas City, Kansas, Randy Ruenger of Rockford, Illinois, Kristy Braunschwieg of Watertown, Wisconsin, Danny (Pam) Ruenger of Waterloo, Wisconsin and Casey (Ronda) Ruenger of Washington, Iowa; 22 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; a sister: Diane Gettle and a brother: Don Ruenger, both of Rockford, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Sharon in 2001 and daughter: Kelly M. Barrie. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m .until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota. There will be no services. A general memorial fund has been established.
