KEOTA-Dorothy L. Singleton, age 82, of Keota, died Friday, April 16, 2010, at Manor House Care Center in Sigourney. Dorothy was born March 20, 1928, in Keswick, Iowa, to Alfred and Nina (Cave) Fitzsimmons and graduated from Keota High School. On January 19, 1950, she married Dale Singleton at the Keota Methodist Church. The couple lived in Keota where Dorothy was a waitress at the Central Café for over 30 years. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Keota, Rebekah Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a Past Noble Grand. Survivors include a daughter: Pam Riffel and husband Mark of What Cheer; son: Ken Singleton and wife Jennifer of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren: Jason (Tammy) Riffel, Justin (Erin) Riffel, Nicholas and Julianne Singleton; three great grandchildren: Chase Sellers, Kobe Riffel and Bleyke Mullen and a brother: Jim Fitzsimmons of Guthrie, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Dale in 1987 and two sisters: Elizabeth Seitsinger and Mary Shafer. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 19, 2010, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, with Rev. Dennis Hopes officiating. Burial will be in Keota Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, 2010, at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the Keota Q.R.S. and Breast Cancer research.
