Williamsburg- Dorothy Mae Goos was born September 14, 1922 in Gladbrook, Iowa, the daughter of Albert L. and Mary Christina (Jessen) Clemann. Dorothy married Fred Lester Goos on July 14, 1943 in Laredo, Texas. The couple moved to the Williamsburg area in 1966, they farmed southeast of Williamsburg. Dorothy worked for the Williamsburg High School as a custodian for a number of years retiring in 1989. She became a resident of Highland Ridge Presbyterian Home in 2004. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Williamsburg. Dorothy died Friday, August 21, 2009 at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 86 years. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Vivian Lench and Virginia Jensen and two brothers: Vern Clemann and Wayne Clemann. Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am on Monday, August 24, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church in Williamsburg. Burial will be at 2:00pm Monday at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Gladbrook. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Memorials are for the American Diabetes Association.
