SIGOURNEY-Dorothy M. Seibel, age 89, of Sigourney, died Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at the Sigourney Care Center, following a brief illness. Dorothy was born January 13, 1919, near Lancaster, Iowa, to Harry and Stella (Beasley) Ragan and graduated from Sigourney High School. On January 13, 1948, she married F. James Seibel in Kirksville, Missouri. Dorothy worked for many years at the Ford Garage, having worked for Madsen Motors, Utterback Ford, Arthur Goettsch and Wagler Motors. Survivors include her daughter-in-law: Jody Krier-Seibel of Sigourney and two nephews: Jack Clough of Gates Mills, Ohio and Robert Clough of Palatine, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: F. James Seibel, daughter: Cynthia Ann Seibel, son: James D. Seibel, sister: Ruth Ragan Clough and brother-in-law: John Clough. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2008, at Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel in Sigourney, with Rev. Julie Sterling officiating. Burial will be at Pennington Cemetery in rural Sigourney. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2008, at the funeral chapel. A memorial fund has been established for the Iowa Commission for the Blind. Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service is handling the arrangements.
