Dorothy M. Heisdorffer, age 83, of Keota, died Monday, March 26, 2007, the result of an automobile accident. Dorothy was born August 31, 1923, in rural What Cheer, Iowa, to Paul and Jenny (Moody) Sparks. She grew up in the What Cheer and Delta communities and graduated from Delta High School in 1941. On February 19, 1946, she married Leo William Heisdorffer at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in What Cheer. The couple lived and farmed in rural Keota and moved into Keota in 1979. Dorothy was a member of Holy Trinity Parish-Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and the Diocese DCCW. Survivors include three children: Mike and wife Kathy Heisdorffer of Keota, Steve and wife Pam Heisdorffer of Harper and Mary Pat and husband Jerry Keeler of Brighton; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and four sisters: Betty Heisdorffer of Keota, Joy Shepherd of Delta, Beverly Blasi of Glenwood and Carol Ritz of Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Leo in 1988 and son: Tom in 2006. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Holy Trinity Parish-Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clear Creek Township with Rev. Marty Goetz officiating. Burial will be at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at the Powell Funeral Home in Keota , where there will be a combined prayer service and rosary at 6:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Keota QRS or Keota Fire Department.
