Williamsburg-Dorothy "Dottie" Elene Kimble was born August 27, 1918 in Osceola, Iowa, the daughter of Julius and Jess (Waight) Atz. She graduated from Osceola High School and attended Junior College. She lived in Osceola until 1940 when she moved to Des Moines until 1952 when she resided in Washington D. C.. Dottie was united in marriage to Robert Charles Kimble on February 15, 1959 in Washington D.C. The couple resided in Washington D. C. Until 1959 when they moved to the USAF Academy in Colorado from 1959-1961, 1961-62 Montgomery, AL, 1962-65 Naples, Italy, 1965-2006 Alexandria, VA and to Williamsburg, Iowa in 2006. Dottie was a former member of the Presbyterian Church in Osceola. After retirement the couple enjoyed traveling on cruise ships to Bermuda, South America, the Caribbean and Hawaii. Dottie died Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 93 years. She is survived by her husband Robert of Williamsburg; a stepdaughter: Susan Trugillo of Clifton, CO; a stepson: Robert M. Kimble of Leadville, CO; two nieces: Sally Derby of Burlington, IA and Susan Rowland of Indianola, IA and a nephew: Jerry Derby of Burlington, IA; 4 stepgrandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren and a number of great nieces and nephews. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters: Martha, Kathryn and Ann and a brother: Richard. Celebration on Life Service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Pastor Kirk Statler will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in National Memorial Park Cemetery in Falls Church VA.
