KEOTA-Dorothy Fickling, age 98, of Keota, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at All American Restorative Care in Washington. Dorothy was born July 13, 1914, in Iowa County, the daughter of George and Stella Pearl (Walton) Groff. She grew up north of Wellman and received her education in rural schools. On December 10, 1952, she married Waldo Fickling in West Chester. The couple made their home in the West Chester area, where Dorothy was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and going to town to shop. Survivors include her son: Rodney Fickling of Washington and one grandson: Jeremy Fickling of Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Waldo in 1989; brother: Warren Groff and sister: Goldie Nejedley. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, with Pastor Vince Homan officiating. Burial will be at Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012, at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for All American Restorative Care.
