Doris Muriel Brock, age 78 of Williamsburg and formerly South English, died following a long illness on Thursday, March 9, 2006, at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg, IA . A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 12, 2006 at the North English Christian Church in North English, IA with Pastor James Stout officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English from 4pm to 7 PM. Burial will be in the South English Cemetery. Doris Muriel Brock was born on September 15, 1927 in What Cheer, IA, the daughter of Merle Franklin and Laura Etta Knipfer Schauff. Her family moved to the North English community where she attended Gritter Creek Country School and graduated from North English High School in 1946. Doris was married to William (Bill) O. Brock at her home west of North English on June 2, 1946. They made their home in South English, where Doris was the town historian, a Cub Scout den mother, and worked as the South English City Librarian. Doris was a member of the North English Christian Church, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, The Women's Federated Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Doris enjoyed writing poems and painting. She became a resident of Highland Ridge Care Center in March 2003. She died there on Thursday, March 9, 2006 following a long illness. Doris lived 78 years, 5 months and 22 days. Doris is survived by her husband Bill of South English; two sons: Bill Brock (Debby) of Ames, IA and Mark Brock (Carolyn) of West Branch, IA; 5 grandchildren: Andrew Brock, Ashley Brock Christiansen, Marcus Brock, Julie Brock & Adam Brock; a great grandson: Renzo Christiansen; two sisters: Harriet Redwine (Herman) of Grandview, IA and Marlene Todd (Jerry) of Newtown, MO; She was preceded in death by her parents, a infant sister Gloria Schauff and brother Ronald Schauff;
