Williamsburg-Doris Marie Nidey was born Monday, August 21, 1922, in Batavia, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Sarah (Hewitt) Jameson. She graduated from Birmingham High School. Doris was united in marriage to Roy N. Nidey on January 23, 1946 at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. After their marriage the couple lived in the Oxford area until 1956 when they moved to Coggon, in 1960 the family returned back to Williamsburg. Since 1966 they have made their home at 107 E Maple. She was a cook at the elementary school for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Altar Guild, Women's Guild and the Fellowship Group. Doris died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at her home after a brief illness, at the age of 84 years She is survived by: two sons: Dale (Karen) Nidey of San Bernardino, CA, Roger (Deb) Nidey of North Liberty, IA; two daughters: Deborah (Dale) Schmidt of Carroll, IA, Robin (Kevin) Thompson of Houston, TX; ten grandchildren: Chris &Ryan Nidey, Jill & Adam Schweers, Andy & Carissa Schmidt, Heidi Schmidt, Mary Thompson, Emily Thompson and Jason Butterbaugh; four great grandchildren: Bennett & Camron Schweers and Hailey & Karlie Butterbaugh; a sister: Lemira Collett of Williamsburg; and three brothers: Robert (Vera) Jameson of Eugene, OR, Richard Jameson and Rex (Lois) Jameson, all of Burlington, IA. Doris was preceded in death by: her parents, husband in 1988, and a brother John Jameson. Celebration of Life Service will be Noon Sunday, May 27, 2007 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Pastor Carl Cloeter will officiate. Burial will be in East York Cemetery, rural Williamsburg. Visitation will be Saturday from 4 to 7:00 pm at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg.
