Doris Hudson, 80, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, returned to God, on Sunday, September 23, 2007, at the Park Place Long Term Care Unit in Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Hudson's body has been cremated. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2007, at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Pat Youngquist officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the Mt. Pleasant Lions Club or to a charity of the donor's choice. On line condolences may be sent to www.olsonpowell.com . Born December 18, 1926, in Monmouth, IL, Doris Mae was the daughter of Clifford and Hazel Shuld Pople. She graduated from Monmouth High School in 1945. On August 31, 1945, she married Henry J. Hudson in Burlington, IA. He preceded her in death in October of 1995. Doris was a homemaker and had worked as a shipping clerk for Browning Scott's Warehouse in Monmouth. She later worked as a finisher at Western Stoneware. The Hudsons moved to Muscatine where Doris was employed at a bakery. In 1978, she moved to Mt. Pleasant and resided there ever since. Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant. She enjoyed playing cards and embroidering. Her greatest love was spending time with her family. Survivors include one daughter, Karen and her husband John Reeves of Omaha, NE; one grandson, Benjamin Hudson of Orlando, FL; and by one sister, Velma Richardson of Viola, IL. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Hudson; a son, Larry R. Hudson; a grandson, Gregg Reeves; and by one brother, Jack Pople.
