Doris C. Robbins

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Doris Claire Robbins, who left us peacefully at the age of 97. Doris was born on September 18, 1927, and spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Doris met the love of her life, Walter Robbins, at a roller skating rink, where their love blossomed and grew into a lifelong partnership. Together, they built a family that was the center of Doris’s world. She was a beloved mother to Brent Robbins, Brenda Runyan, and Brad Robbins. Her son, Brad, always called her his "number one mom," a sentiment that perfectly captured the extraordinary love and devotion she gave to her children. Doris was also a cherished grandmother to eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Doris had a remarkable gift for painting, with a particular love for oil painting. Her works were an expression of her quiet, graceful spirit. She also had a beautiful voice, and those who were lucky enough to hear her sing will always remember the joy she brought through her music.

Doris’s kindness knew no bounds. She was the embodiment of sweetness, always offering love and support to those around her. She lived with a gentle strength, and her presence made the world a better place. Many would say she was too good for this world, and it’s hard to disagree.

Her family, friends, and all who knew her will miss her deeply, but we find comfort in the knowledge that her legacy of love, creativity, and compassion will live on in all of us.

Private family services will be held, and burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery.
