Donnie Lee Pence

SIGOURNEY-Donnie Lee Pence, age 79, of Sigourney, died Friday, November 6, 2020, at Manor House Care Center in Sigourney.
Donnie was born November 28, 1940, in Sigourney, to Carl and Mildred (Kerber) Pence and graduated from Sigourney High School. On March 27, 1958, he married Ardith Moore at the Delta United Methodist Church. A lifelong resident of Sigourney, Donnie farmed and did excavating work. He also worked for DeLong Keith about 10 years before retiring in 2007. In the 1980's he acquired his mother's rag rug loom and made many rugs and place mats. Donnie attended the Delta United Methodist Church, was an East Lancaster Township Trustee for 40 years and served as President and member of the Sigourney Volunteer Fire Board for 38 years. He enjoyed hunting, shooting, reloading shells, working in the shop and cutting wood.
Survivors include three children: Leta (Dale) Tedrow of Douds, Betty Waechter of Sigourney and Larry (Lori) Pence of Sigourney; 10 grandchildren: Matthew, Brandin, Tylor, Adam, Michael, Morgan, Mark, Bryce, Brooke and Brayden and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Ardith in 2008; sister: Helen Kleinschmidt and brother in infancy.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney, with Pastor Vince Homan officiating. The service will also be livestreamed on the Powell Funeral Home facebook page. Burial will be at Garrett Cemetery near Delta. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at the funeral home. Mask usage and social distancing are strongly encouraged at the visitation and service
