Donna W. Possehl, age 98, of Marengo, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marengo with Pastor Andrew Gray officiating. Burial will be at the Marengo Cemetery, Marengo. Visitation: 4-7 p.m., Monday, September 6, 2021, in the Fellowship Hall at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is caring for Donna and her family.
Donna is survived by daughters, Dianne (Dan) Stephan Nolte, Carole Denzler, Joanne Slockett, Cindy (Bruce) Ballard, and Connie Boerjan; 10 grandchildren, Missy (Jeff) Disterhoft, Niki (Greg) Kearney, Kim Slaymaker, Suzette Ehrle, Chris (Tonya) Stephan, Brent (Christine) Bral, Shawn (Tammy) Stephan, Luke (Shannon) Slockett, Darren (Michelle) Slaymaker, and Jon Smith; 15 great grandchildren, Ally and Nate Disterhoft, Justin and Courtney Kearney, Bryce Loffer, Ella (Ian) Huff, Hayden Ehrle, Devin and Addy Stephan, Tristan and Dylan Stephan, Brecken and Nash Bral, and Brynlee and Bryar Slockett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leo in 2006, four sons-in-law Roy Bral, Harry Stephan, Charlie Boerjan, Jerry Denzler; and eight brothers and sisters.
Donna Wilma Hacker was born February 22, 1923, the daughter of William and Mary Johnson Hacker. She attended St. Martin’s Country School. Donna was united in marriage to Leo Possehl on February 6, 1941, at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, in rural Marengo. She was a homemaker, and a good loving wife, working beside her husband on their family farms. Donna was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be missed by many.
