Donna Mae Brookhart

WELLMAN - Donna Mae Brookhart was born August 21, 1940 in Grandview, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Leona (Jarr) Fowler. She graduated from Wilton High School. On June 19, 1960 Donna was united in marriage to Richard Brookhart in Wilton. They lived in California, Arizona and Nevada where Donna worked in housekeeping for Super 8 Motel retiring in 1990. They returned to Iowa and have lived in the Wellman community since 1991. Donna attended the Asbury United Methodist Church, and was a member of Garden Club and the Red Hat Ladies. She enjoyed gardening and making crafts. Donna passed away suddenly on Friday, May 19, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 76 years.
Donna is survived by her son Kurt Brookhart and wife Nahida of Wellman; 6 grandchildren: Richard, Brittny, Brigette, Miranda, Mallory and Kurt Cash; and a brother Albert (Janie) Fowler of Lubbock, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, a sister Margaret Ellsworth, and a brother Howard Fowler.


Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Wellman. Pastor Moody Colorado will officiate. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-7 PM on Tuesday at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. A memorial fund has been established for Asbury United Methodist Church. The Powell Funeral Home in Wellman is caring for Donna and her family.
