SIGOURNEY-Donna L. Hahn, age 69, of Sigourney, died of brain cancer Friday, December 12, 2008, at her home in rural Sigourney. Donna was born in Davenport, Iowa, to Wesley W. and Erna (Ihlefeld) Howe. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1957 and St. Luke's School of Nursing in Davenport in 1960. On September 10, 1960, she married Errol Hahn at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ottumwa. Donna was the Keokuk County Public Health Nurse, Director of Nursing at Manor House Care Center, worked in Dr. Jutabha's office, the Sigourney Care Center and Keokuk County Hospice, retiring in 2005. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney, the Altar and Rosary Society, Farm Bureau, Keokuk County Health Center Auxiliary, Keokuk County Hospice Auxiliary, Sigourney Music Boosters, was the Red Cross Disaster Nurse, Keokuk County First Responders and numerous other community volunteer activities. Donna enjoyed bird watching, gardening, cooking and canning. Survivors include three daughters: Margaret Hahn of Des Moines, Laura Hanna and husband Dale of Milford and Sarah Hahn and husband Carl Golightly of Burbank, Washington; her mother: Erna Logan of Ottumwa; three brothers: Dale Howe of Ottumwa, Darryl Howe of Naperville, Illinois and Dennis Howe of Rockford, Illinois; two step sisters: Judy Legnard of North Carolina and Kay Gray of New York and one step brother: Chris Logan of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by her father and husband: Errol in 2007. A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney, with Rev. Charles Fladung officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Sigourney. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel, where the family will be present from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. There will be a wake service followed by a rosary at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for the Keokuk County Health Center Auxiliary or Iowa Public Television. Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service in Sigourney is caring for Donna and her family.
