Donna J. Stauffer, age 91, of Brooklyn, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Brooklyn Community Estate. Funeral service: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, with ­­­Rev. John Dodds officiating. Burial will be at the Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Donna is survived by her children Lynn Stauffer of Brooklyn, Laurie (Tom) Grier of Guernsey, Lisa (Roger) Bales of Brooklyn; 12 grandchildren, Jim (RaeAnn) Steffensmeier of Osawatomie, KS., Mindy (Clint) Rhoads of Brooklyn, Ryan (Stephanie) Ellis of Littleton, CO., Jennifer (Mark) Austin of Bondurant, Heather (Luke) Duttlinger of Williamsburg, Brandon Steffensmeier (Michelle Sherron) of Brooklyn, Amanda (Matt) Kasten of Clear Lake, Joshua Steffensmeier of Grinnell, Kristen (Caleb) Kriegel of Bondurant, Stacia (Paul) Brown of Malcom, Jared (Miranda) Steffensmeier of Victor, and Greg (Becca) Stauffer of Brooklyn; 23 great-grandchildren, Beckett, Caleb, Colette and Noam Rhoads, Ayden, Mya, and Izyk Austin, Syn and Aiden Steffensmeier, Aston, Auva, and Aria Brown, Ella, Lena, and Dax Duttlinger, Zander Steffensmeier, Ariel and Graysen Kasten, Coralyn and Brecken Kriegel, Irie and Akoya Steffensmeier, and Henry Ellis. Also surviving Donna are her sisters Jane Spear of Tama, and Betty Cline of Brooklyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glen, her daughter Linda Ellis, a sister Dorothy Ruff, brothers Larry and Ronald Groves, and a son-in-law Calvin Steffensmeier.

Donna Jean Groves was born September 16, 1930, the daughter of Alson and Marie Mahnke Groves. She graduated from Tama High School. Donna was united in marriage to Glen Stauffer on October 25, 1953, at the First Baptist Church in Tama. Along with being a homemaker, Donna was a produce manager at the local Jack-N-Jill grocery store in Brooklyn. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn. Donna enjoyed camping, fishing, and crafting. She kept a garden and preserved her garden vegetables. Donna especially loved spending time with her family during their family get togethers.
