HARPER-Donna Brenneman, age 72, of Harper, died Friday, September 16, 2011, at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney. Donna was born November 27, 1938, near Harper, to Victor and Edna (Moriarty) Holzworth. She graduated from St. Elizabeth High School and was valedictorian of her nursing class at St. Ambrose College in Davenport, where she received her R.N. In 1957, Donna married Marlin Brenneman at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Harper. Donna worked at Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney for 20 years. She then retired and worked part time at Maplewood Manor in Keota for several years. A lifelong resident of the Harper Community, she was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, sheep shows, draft horse shows, craft shows, her trips to Branson and especially her granddaughter, Ashley. Survivors include two sons: Victor and Lynn, both of Harper; granddaughter: Ashley of Ottumwa and sister: Nancy Robertson of Harper. She was preceded in death by her parents; aunt: Helen Stankus and her husband. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, with Rev. Charles Fladung officiating. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries - St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Harper. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 19, 2011, at the Powell Funeral Home in Keota, where there will be a rosary at 4:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the American Cancer Society.
