Marengo-Donald "Red" Olson was born January 11,1934 IN Cedar Rapids, the son of Lewis and Emma Kuhnle Olson. He graduated from Conroy High School. Red served in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to Cathryn Crowe in the fall of 1965, they later divorced . He was a life long resident of Iowa County where he enjoyed farming and was a avid Hawkeye Fan. Red died Saturday, March 18, 2006 at the Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo after a brief illness at the age of 72 years. He is survived by a son: Matt Olson of Marengo and many cousins. Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy. visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 pm at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg.
