Donald Edgar "Tony" Wengerd

Donald Edgar “Tony” Wengerd, age 85, of Marengo, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Compass Memorial Hospital. A private memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., CST, Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, Iowa. The family will be streaming the services via Zoom. Please contact a family member for access. A memorial fund has been established.

Tony is survived by his wife Anna; four children Marvin, of Waukee, Iowa, Rhonda (Vernon) Snyder, of Grantsville, MD, Jack (Gina) Wengerd, of Marengo, Iowa, and Jill (Terry) Holler, of Thurmont, MD; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Paul, in 2004, and two brothers, Joseph and L. James.

Tony was born June 6, 1935, in Grantsville, Maryland, the son of Logan and Anna (Custer) Wengerd. He graduated from Northern High School, in Accident, Maryland and later served in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to Anna Miller on July 3, 1958. The couple moved to Marengo, Iowa in 1998. Tony was employed by a family owned house and barn painting business. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Tony enjoyed talking to people about the Bible.
