Diane Marie Clabaugh was born on April 11, 1947, in Emmetsburg, IA, the daughter of Harry and Mildred Wilberg Bonnicksen. She graduated from Armstrong High School ion 1965.Diane attended Estherville Junior College and graduated in the first Nursing Class in 1966. On March 9, 1968, Diane married Vic Clabaugh in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They lived a short time in Armstrong before moving to the Parnell area in 1971. Diane worked 31 years as a LPN at the English Valley Care Center in North English. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Diane loved being with her grandchildren, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, going to car shows, her flower gardens, watching NASCAR on TV and her computer games. Diane died on Friday, November 5, 2010, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a sudden illness. Diane is survived by her husband Vic Clabaugh of rural Parnell, IA; sons: Cory (Anne) Clabaugh of North English, IA and Chad (Angie) Clabaugh of Williamsburg; 6 grandchildren: Cody & Miranda, Samantha, Kathryn, Payton & Wyatt; a sister Carol (Steve) Corderman of Armstrong, IA; and several nieces and nephews. Diane was preceded in death by her parents. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 8, 2010 at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English, with the Rev. Carl Cloeter officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 1 pm to 5 pm. Private committal services will be held at a later date in the Yankee Point Cemetery, rural North English.
