Delores Carver, 79, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Tuesday, October 07, 2014, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, IA. Visitation will be held from 12-7 p.m., on Friday, October 10, 2014, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel where family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. that evening. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 11th, at the Memorial Chapel with Pastor Charles Stevens officiating. Interment will be in the Lambirth Cemetery. Memorials have been established to Great River Hospice House or The Salvation Army. Born October 7, 1935 in Fairfield, IA, Delores Ann was the daughter of Wilbur and Marjorie (Greenfield) Snook. She attended schools in Fairfield. On June 29, 1952, she married Loren Carver at the Methodist Church in Fairfield. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2008. Working alongside her husband, they owned and operated two businesses, Carvers Produce and Carvers CB Radio. For fifteen years Delores worked as a Certified Medical Assistant at Pleasant Manor Care Center and at the Henry County Home where she was Employee of the Year. Delores loved her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. As a couple, she and Loren loved to travel. They had visited all of the lower 48 states and Canada. She enjoyed visiting with neighbors and spent many hours having coffee with friends at Walmart. Favorite hobbies included playing computer games, going to casinos, collecting bells and watching the QVC channel and Wheel of Fortune on TV. She loved to spoil her cat, Baby, and genuinely enjoyed life and being around people. Survivors include three daughters, Lorna (Dennis) Henessee of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Sherry Saltzman of Morning Sun, IA, and Joni (Steve) Davis of Burlington, IA; one son, Kelly Carver of New London; thirteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Loren; a son, Lloyd Eugene Carver, a sister, Alice Briggs, and two brothers, Donald "Ernie" Snook and Glen Snook.
