Della Faye Yoder

KALONA - Della Faye Yoder was born December 1, 1930 in Shickley, Nebraska, the daughter of Lloyd and Emma (Kennel) Troyer. She graduated from Wellman High School. On August 25, 1950 Della was united in marriage to Keith E. Yoder at the Wellman Mennonite Church in Wellman. They made their home in the Kalona community where they farmed, and Della owned and operated Yoder Antiques, Gifts and Quilts retiring in 2001. Della was a faithful member of the Wellman Mennonite Church, where she was a Sunday School and Bible School teacher, MYF sponsor for many years, member of WMSC, served on the food committee and the Planning and Building committee. She enjoyed antiquing, gardening, tending to her flower beds, watching birds and traveling. Della died on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Country View in North Liberty at the age of 85 years.
Della is survived by a daughter Joette Droz; a son Brian (Lynn) Yoder; a son-in-law Rick Hookway all of Kalona; 6 grandchildren Carisa (Jeff) Funk, Mariah (Clay) Stauffer, Kim (Winson) Droz-Leaton, Derrick (Cody Geest) Droz, Josh (Kara) Yoder, Rex Yoder; 6 great grandchildren Emersyn and Quinlyn Funk, Briggs, Holden and Daxton Stauffer, and Azry Leaton; 2 sisters Verda Troyer, Alta Troyer of Kalona; and a sister-in-law Vivian Troyer of Wellman. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Keith, a daughter Judy Hookway, son-in-law Dave Droz, grandson Theo Yoder, 4 brothers Lloyd J., Wilbur, Warren, Ivan, and 3 sisters Ida Kliewer, Wilma Becker and Nettie Fehlberg.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Wellman Mennonite Church in Wellman. Pastor Nathan Ramer will officiate. Burial will be in the Wellman Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-7 PM on Friday at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. A memorial fund has been established for Country View and Alzheimer Association of Greater Iowa.
