WILLIAMSBURG: Della Marie Allum was born November 29, 1932 in Sigourney, Iowa the daughter of Jess and Hazel Fry Northup. She grew up in Sigourney and has lived in Webster, North Liberty (1978 - 1994) and in Williamsburg since 1994. Della was united in marriage to Levirne Allum on October 25, 1945 in Des Moines. She worked at the Keokuk County Hospital in Sigourney for 10 years, Amana Refrigeration for 10 years and then was supervisor of night custodians at the University of Iowa until retiring in 1991. Della was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Williamsburg. She delivered Meals on Wheels for seven years, was a monkey stuffer and enjoyed watching sports. Della went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday evening, May 3, 2005 at her home in Williamsburg, at the age of 72 years 5 months and 4 days of cancer. Della is survived by a daughter Karen Hohle of Williamsburg; three grandchildren: Chad Hohle of Kremmling, Colorado, April (Brad)Otto of Oxford and Kim (Chad) Yearian of Williamsburg; three great grandchildren: Anna Hohle, Caleb Otto and Chloe Yearian; two sisters: Mary Rose Lockridge of Amana and Jean Frazier of Sigourney and two brothers: James Northup of Blairstown and Raymond Northup of North English. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Rickie Allum and a sister Martha Martin. Celebration of Life Service will be10:30 am, Saturday, May 7, 2005 at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Williamsburg. Pastor James Parks will officiate. Burial will be in the Sorden Cemetery near Webster, Iowa. Visitation will be from 3 to 7:00 Friday at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg.
