Williamsburg-Delaine Gesina Wille was born July 31, 1933, in Iowa County, the daughter of Leroy and Linda (Huedepohl) Lorenz. Delaine was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she was baptized August 20, 1933 and confirmed May 25, 1947. She graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1951. Delaine was united in marriage to Donald Dean Wille on May 30, 1954 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She farmed alongside Donald, running all the farm equipment, cared for their children and later worked as a cook at Williamsburg High School and Ox Yoke Interstate. Delaine enjoyed spending time with their family. Delaine died Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg, Iowa, at the age of 91 years.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years; two daughters, Barbara (Gary) Hopp of Williamsburg and Connie (Greg) Von Ahsen of Millersburg; her son, Jeff (Linda) Wille of Williamsburg; six grandchildren, Haley Hopp, Ashley (Brad) Peterson, Nathan Wille, Sarah (Shannon) Plaht, Tyler Wille and Kaitlin Wille; a great-grandson Liam Peterson; two step grandchildren, Eva (Chris) Lutz and Amanda (Marshall) Ritchie and a sister Dolores Wille of Williamsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Laverna (Henry) Von Ahsen and a brother-in-law Albert Jr. Wille.
A celebration of life service will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. A memorial fund has been established for Immanuel Lutheran Church and Lutheran Interparish School.
