Debra Kay Quinlan, age 44, of Marengo, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Compass Memorial Hospital, Marengo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 27, 2021 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Marengo, with Father David Wilkening officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Marengo. Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, with a Scripture Wake Service at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Debra’s name for the future education of her children Jeana and Aidan.
Debra is survived by her husband Dan, of Marengo; a daughter Jeana, of Cedar Rapids; a son Aidan Quinlan at home, of Marengo; her parents Dennis and Peggy Walton, of Marengo; her father and mother-in-law Larry and Jean Quinlan, of Marengo; a brother Jeff (Katherine) Walton, of Belvidere, IL; a sister Emily (Matthew) Cahoy, of Marengo; two brothers-in-law Mike (Julie) Quinlan, of Marengo and Ed (Janel) Quinlan, of Hamilton, Il; two sisters-in-law Joni Lawson, of Ottumwa and Anne Quinlan, of Fort Dodge; and numerous other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a brother-in-law Joe Quinlan in 2008.
Debra Kay Walton, was born August 23, 1977, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Dennis and Peggy Ann (Brown) Walton. She graduated from Iowa Valley High School in 1995. Debra continued her education at Coe College where she received her degree in teaching and later returned to Kirkwood Community College and received her nursing degree. She was united in marriage to Daniel Quinlan on June 19, 1999. They were blessed with two children Jeana and Aidan. Debra was a Registered Nurse and worked at various hospitals and clinics. She was currently employed at Williamsburg Family Medical Clinic. Debra was a member and past president of PEO and was an active member at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, in Marengo. She enjoyed singing and reading. Debra loved taking family vacations and spending time with family and friends.
