Deborah Ann Peters

Deborah A. Peters, age 62, of Belle Plaine passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Belle Plaine Specialty Care Center after a short, courageous battle with ovarian cancer.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2022  at the Marengo Cemetery, with Jeramey Peters officiating.  A memorial fund has been established.

Deb was an excellent cook and loved to bake.  She was known for her biscuits and gravy, “ Orange Fluffy Stuff ”, pumpkin bars and the amazing Christmas cookie spread.  She was always up for trying new and different recipes.  She also enjoyed going to Meskwaki Bingo and Casino and always seemed to win.  Above all, Deb enjoyed being around her family and her two dachshunds, Lily and Daisy.  She was a phenomenal aunt and loved her nieces and nephews with an amazingly big heart.  She gave The.Best.Hugs.

Deborah Ann Brandon was born September 1, 1959, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth White Brandon.  She graduated from Amana High School in 1977.  She was united in marriage to Steven Peters on July 18, 1980, at the First Methodist Church in Marengo.  Deb worked as an assembler in the door foam department at Amana Refrigeration for 41 years, retiring in January of 2021.

Deb is survived by her husband, Steven of Belle Plaine; her mother, Elizabeth Brandon of Marengo; brothers Robert (Mary) Brandon of Millersburg, Jeffry (Peggy) Brandon of Marengo; in-laws Don Peters, Donna (Ted) Peters, Scott (Bridget) Peters, Lee Peters; nieces Michelle Ayers, Lisa (Ricky) Vargas, Jamey (Griffin) Glynn, Lauren (Adam) Johnson, Rachel Peters; nephews Doug (Brittney) Brandon, David (Lindsey) Brandon, Jeramey (Tina) Peters, Korey (Dawn) Peters and Mitchell Peters.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert “ Bob” Brandon, her mother-in-law Judith Peters and brother-in-law Tim Peters.
