David L Slaubaugh

Kalona- David Lynn Slaubaugh was born May 18, 1951, in Williamsburg, the son of Dwight and Marilyn (Kinsinger) Slaubaugh.  He graduated from Iowa Mennonite High School and attended one year at Goshen College. David worked on his family farm, for 50 years, until retiring in 2015. On July 14 , 1973, David was united in marriage to Faye Brenneman at West Union Mennonite Church. He enjoyed farming, sports, the family fishing trip to Canada, gathering with friends and family, and his annual fish fry.  David passed away Friday, April 15, 2022 at Pleasantview Home in Kalona at the age of 70 years.

David is survived by his wife Faye of Kalona; two children: Alicia (Paul) Berry of Harrisonburg, VA and Shawn (Cara) Slaubaugh of Wellman; 6 grandchildren: Audra and Ellaryn Berry of Harrisonburg, VA, Owen, Evan, Norah and Dia Slaubaugh of Wellman; his mother: Marilyn (Fisher) Slaubaugh of Wellman; two sisters: Bonnie (Tom) Stuckey of Archbold, OH and Jean (Bill) Schneider of Wellman; a brother: Doug (Carla) Slaubaugh of Parnell; 10 nieces and nephews and 22 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Dwight and two grandsons: Jacob and Caden Berry.

A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at West Union Mennonite Church, rural Parnell. A private family graveside will be in the West Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona.  A memorial fund has been established for Pleasentview Home.
