David O Yearian

June 7, 2017 — July 23, 2016

Williamsburg- David O Yearian was born April 23, 1951 in Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of Leroy "Jack" & Eunice (Jones) Yearian. He graduated from Williamsburg High School and attended Ellsworth Jr. College. On November 4, 1972 David was united in marriage to Coleen Stanerson at St. John Lutheran Church, Homestead.
His love for people began at a very early age working for his parents at the Yearian Nursing Home. He became a nursing home administrator and later purchased the nursing home from his father in 1973. Upon selling the home, David continued as the administrator for both the Williamsburg Care Center and Manor Care Center. After three years, he accepted the opportunity to be the administrator at Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo. In 1986 he purchased Rose Haven and Brooklyn Community Estate. He retired January 1, 2016 but looked forward to seeing both facilities continue to excel in providing expanded health care services.
David enjoyed playing golf and was an avid baseball fan. His love for baseball lead him to help initiate the Williamsburg Summer Rec Program and he loved coaching the youth. He can also be remembered as the announcer for the Red Sox, especially on the 4th of July and singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame". David was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Conroy, former member of the Williamsburg Fire Department and an EMT for the Iowa County Ambulance Service. Other organizations include the Iowa County I Club, Sport Hill Board, Lion's Club, the Iowa Health Care Association- serving on various committees and a charter member of the WYC.
He loved following the Iowa Hawkeyes, St. Louis Cardinals and his grandchildren's events. The annual vacation to an island and the family trip to the Lake of the Ozarks were at the top of his list, but he was always ready to hit the road for a new adventure. He traveled coast to coast following the Hawks and was thrilled to witness them go 12-0. Most of all he loved being surrounded by family and friends.
David was welcomed into Heaven by his mother on her birthday, July 23, 2016 at Marengo Memorial Hospital, Marengo at the age of 65 years.

He is survived by his wife Coleen of Williamsburg; three children: Cory (Hayley) Yearian of Williamsburg, Scott (Christina) Yearian of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Stacy (Mark) Horvath of Williamsburg; eleven grandchildren: Bryce, Jenna, Jordyn, Dakota, and Colton Yearian, Hayden, Bella and Elena Yearian, and Demi, Karli and Jace Horvath; a sister Sara (Ron) Calvin of Lake Ozark, Missouri; brothers-in-law: Larry (Julie) Stanerson and Keith (LaMar) Stanerson; a sister-in-law Barbara Stanerson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents; father & mother-in-law Ed & Ethel Stanerson; a sister Susan Stochl; and a brother-in-law Dean Stanerson.
