Darryl Dale Grimm

Millersburg- Darryl Dale Grimm was born February 13, 1937 in Montezuma, Iowa the son of Raymond & Verna Rose (Brannian) Grimm. He graduated from Millersburg High School in 1955. He served in the National Guard from 1955-1963. On January 4, 1964 Darryl was united in marriage to Peggy Joyce Moore at White Oak Church, Thornburg. He was a life long resident and farmer of the Millersburg area. Darryl was a member of Community Church, Millersburg, the Oliver Club and TIP board member for 29 years. He enjoyed farming, gardening, tractor rides, watching the Cubs, Hawkeyes, Cyclones and his grandchildren's activities. He also enjoyed watching over the cows during calving season. Darryl died on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Marengo Memorial Hospital at the age of 80 years.

He is survived by his wife Peggy of Millersburg; three children Scott Grimm (Sherry Caskey) of Millersburg, Sandy (Steve) Brune of Shueyville and Tim (Kim) Grimm of Millersburg; four grandchildren Ashlee (Weston) Widmer, Nick Brune, Meghan Brune and A.J. Grimm; a sister Cheryl (Clayton) Linscheid of Sterling, IL; two brothers Ronald (Janice) Grimm of Deep River and Alan (Vicky) Grimm of North English; two step brothers James (Betty) Herdliska of Erskine, MN and Ron (Linda) Herdliska of Solon; and a brother-in-law Ivan Edwards of Pella. He was preceded by his parents, step mom Jennie and a sister Verna Jean Edwards.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Community Church, rural Millersburg. Burial will be in the Community Cemetery.
