Dale Teberg, 84, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Friday, September 11, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Visitation will begin after 12 noon on Monday, September 14, 2009, at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant, where a rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. that evening. The family will greet friends following the rosary until 7:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gary Beckman celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Born October 18, 1924, in Henry County, Dale Francis was the son of Francis and Miriam Gavin Teberg. He was a 1942 graduate of Pleasant Lawn School. On December 28, 1943, he married Verneta Turner at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. She survives. For forty two years, Dale farmed, with the help of his wife, on a farm north of Mt. Pleasant. He also worked for Agri Builders in Winfield for eighteen years. In 1997, Dale moved to Mt. Pleasant, where he has lived ever since. Dale was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and served on the St. Alphonsus Cemetery Board. He was a John Deere memorabilia collector. Along with his wife, Dale is survived by two sons, Dale Teberg Jr. of Hanover, IL and Jerry (Sherry) Teberg of Mt. Pleasant, IA and four grandchildren, Ted (Mary) Teberg, Corey (Shean) Albrecht, Tracy (Eric) Shepard, and Carrie (Dave Geary) Teberg. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Tessa and Tommy Teberg, Addison and Caden Albrecht, and Tyler and Conner Shepard. Mr. Teberg was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Teberg.
