SIGOURNEY-Dale E. Homan, age 77, of Sigourney, died Thursday, February 14, 2008, at Manor House Care Center in Sigourney Dale was born March 12, 1930 in Sigourney, to David and Jessie (Bensmiller) Homan. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On April 19, 1963, he married Frances Knaak in Lancaster, Missouri. Dale lived in Keokuk County all of his life, where he was an electrician for 35 years, retiring in 1987. He was a past member of the American Legion in Keswick and enjoyed horses. Survivors include his wife: Frances Homan of Sigourney; two sons: Jerry Homan and wife Kristy of Plainfield, Illinois and Rick Homan and wife Marie of Ladora; six grandchildren: Jessica, Joe, Eric, Jenna, Elizabeth and Bobbi; two sisters: Maxine Lemley of Primghar and Marjie Thrasher of Park Rapids, Minnesota and one brother: Richard Homan of Keswick. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister in infancy and one brother: Edward Homan. Memorial graveside services will be held at a later date at Conner Cemetery in rural Sigourney. Interment will be at Conner Cemetery. There will be no visitation. A general memorial fund has been established.
