Dale C. Wenger, Cedar Rapids, died June 19, 2009 at his home. The body was cremated. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen, Indiana. The Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Wellman is in charge of the local arrangements. Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn and husband David Derstine of Souderton, Pennsylvania, sons, Ron and Galen, who shared a home with Dale, and a granddaughter, Andria Derstine of Oberlin, Ohio. Dale was born in rural South English, Iowa, on July 21, 1917 to Clark and Mamie Cook Wenger. He attended school at South Enlgish graduating in the class of 1934, and college at Goshen, Indiana. Dale and Twila M. Swartzendruber were married June 20, 1946 at Manson, Iowa. Twila died December 28, 1996. Dale had two brothers who preceded him in death, Paul and Daryl. Dale was employed at LaPlante Choate, Beverly Cattle Co, and Rockwell Collins where he retired in 1982. Dale was a member of the First Mennonite Church, Iowa City, Iowa.
