Dale Brock, 46, of Geneseo, IL, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, at the Emergency Room at the Henry County Health Center. His body has been cremated. A Celebration of Life will take place in Monmouth at the American Legion, on Saturday, April 19, 2014, starting at 1:00 p.m. A memorial has been established for his granddaughter Isabelle's education fund. The Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel of Mount Pleasant, Iowa is assisting the family with memorial arrangements. Born August 2, 1967 in Monmouth, IL, Dale Lee was the son of Jerry and Martha (Ross) Brock. He graduated from Monmouth High School. He then attended two years at Carl Sandburg College. On March 11, 1989 he married Rebel D. Day in Monmouth, IL. Dale was the owner and operator of Brock Consulting working as a computer programmer and analyst with 30 years of experience. An avid outdoorsman, Dale enjoyed hunting deer, archery, and playing golf. He was an avid sports fan of the Green Bay Packers and the St. Louis Cardinals, and he enjoyed spending time supporting the Cardinals minor league teams. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR especially Bill Elliot. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family. His granddaughter, Isabelle, was the highlight of his life. Survivors include his wife, Rebel, of Geneseo, IL; two sons, Bryce Brock and Jake (Christina) Brock all of Geneseo, IL; a granddaughter, Isabelle Brock; his parents, Jerry and Martha Brock of Roseville, IL; his mother-in-law, Shirley Day-Stebens of Chatham, IL; a sister, Salinda (Doug) Shinn; a brother-in-law, Rodney (Traci) Day, Jr; four nephews; five nieces; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and a special friend, Karen Leichty, and her family of Mt. Pleasant. Preceding him in death are an infant sister; his maternal and paternal grandparents; and father-in-law, Rodney L. Day, Sr.
