D. Max Miller was born Thursday, March 20, 1919 near Wellman, Iowa the son of Daniel and Fanny (Swartzendruber) Miller. He attended the Franklin rural school. On December 28, 1947 he was united in marriage to Ruth M. Gingerich at the Wellman Mennonite Church in Wellman. He has lived and farmed in the Wellman community all of his life. He took pride in farming, soil conservation and raising cattle. He was a member of the Wellman Mennonite Church. Max died on Monday, April 24, 2006 at his home in rural Wellman following a lengthy illness at the age of 87 years. Max is survived by his wife Ruth of Wellman; and his son - Rex Miller of Wellman. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother - Dan E. Miller Jr., and a sister - Olivia Blosser.
A Memorial Fund has been established for Washington County Hospice.
