Curt Fleig, 55, of Mount Pleasant, IA, died of natural causes on Sunday, March 23, 2014. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2014, from 12 - 7 p.m. at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel where the family will receive friends from 4 - 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 27th at First United Methodist Church, 309 N Main Street, with Pastor Grady Miller and Pastor Deborah Stowers officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials have been established to Grace Community Friends Church and Camp Quaker Heights. Born February 21, 1959 in Fairfield, IA, Curtis Dean was the son of Delbert Ross and Marjorie Ann (Sents) Fleig. He was a 1977 graduate of Pekin-Packwood High School. He attended college at Friends Bible College in Haviland, KS. On June 23, 1984 he married Jolene Marie Mitchell. For 25 years Curt worked at Cargill Seed Company. He was then employed by Metrogroup Corporation, and most recently, Walmart Distribution Center. He worked part-time for Leslie Heating and Cooling. Always willing to help a stranger, Curt only had friends. He enjoyed staying connected with his friends on Facebook. He loved to ride his motorcycle and tinker in his garage. Mushroom hunting on the family farm was a favorite pastime. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Jolene, of Mt. Pleasant; a son Marcus Fleig of Coralville, IA; a daughter, Kiersten (Kjtt) of Mt. Pleasant, IA; his parents Delbert and Marge of Mt. Pleasant, IA; two sisters, Carol (Grady) Miller of Independence, KS and Cindy (Steve) Hoeksema of Clive, IA; 17 nieces and nephews; 9 great nieces and nephews; and his in-laws, Tom (Gloria) Mitchell, Aaron (Shannon) Mitchell and Beth Tow all of LeGrand, IA. He was welcomed in heaven by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and a nephew.
