Colleen J. Roggentien

Colleen J. Roggentien, age 92, of Marengo, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Colonial Manor of Amana. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Marengo Cemetery, Marengo, with Ben Brecht officiating. Memorials may be contributed to the charity of the donor’s choice. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is caring for Colleen and her family.

Colleen is survived by her children, Dennis Roggentien of Marengo, Douglas Roggentien of Marengo, Daren (Crystal) Roggentien of Marengo, and Dana (Betty) Roggentien of Oxford; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, brother Gary, and sister-in-law Kathy Waline.

Colleen Joyce Waline was born November 11, 1931, in Victor, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Pearl Kanke Waline. She graduated from Marengo High School in 1950. Colleen was united in marriage to Harold “Fat” Roggentien on May 12, 1951, in Marengo, Iowa. Colleen owned and operated the Old Style Tavern in Marengo, retiring in 2008. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Colleen enjoyed playing rolle bolle and bowling.
